Biography

Born on March 5, 1959, Robert Maxwell McCord was born in California. When he was 10 he moved to Ardmore PA and later attended Lower Merion High School. After graduating from Lower Merion High, McCord took a year off and then went to Harvard College. At Harvard he did one year abroad and went to Trinity College in Ireland and (back at Harvard) met Leigh Jackson, who he would later marry. McCord also obtained an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania before he moved to Washington D.C. and later New York. After New York, McCord traveled back to PA and set up home in Narberth PA, less than a mile from Ardmore. He then had two kids: Jackson Philip McCord, and Grant Alexander McCord. Three months after having their second child, the McCord family ventured to Bryn Mawr. From 1994 through 1998 McCord worked at Safeguard Scientifics. McCord founded and from 1998 to 2007 ran the Eastern Technology Council. Now Robert McCord (52) is the state treasurer of Pennsylvania. He, his wife Leigh Alexandra Jackson, and their sons Jackson and Grant live in Bryn Mawr. home.[1]
